Cute and encourages the children to think globally。

Elliot

No matter where the babies of this darling book are born, they all have ten little fingers and ten little toes。 A great way to focus on ways we are similar and simultaneously celebrate our differences。* library bookAge: 1。5

Nice book that mums can read to their babies。

Lara Bate

A great book to teach children how to count to 10。

Our little one loves this book and it gets pulled off the shelf several times a day。 I enjoy that it covers numbers, anatomy, and how we are all the same while also being different。 Plus, it helps us be interactive since we do the kisses on the nose。

If you’ve longed for your own baby and finally held him, this will make you cry tears of joy。

Babies are born all over the world - in cities, in the hills, etc。 But all of those babies are the same in that they all have "ten little fingers and ten little toes。" I love the gentle rhyming text of this one, and the ending makes it a perfect book for parents to read to their own babies。 Babies are born all over the world - in cities, in the hills, etc。 But all of those babies are the same in that they all have "ten little fingers and ten little toes。" I love the gentle rhyming text of this one, and the ending makes it a perfect book for parents to read to their own babies。 。。。more

A lovely way to end the day is with your little one in your arms reading this rhythmic book about the similarities of babies, the cultures of the world and the love of every mother has for their children。

My friend Anders sent me this book! It showed up right as I woke up from my nap, so Mommy read it to me right away during our post-nap story time。 I liked looking at all of the different babies。 I don't know many babies, so I find pictures of them fascinating。 I also know all about fingers and toes, so I could point them out。 It was a fun book! “It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength “ (Maya Angelou) And this is exactly what that book does! Sweet sweet verse and lovely inclusive images of babes of all shapes, sizes, and colors。 What a beautiful way to bring up a little one into a world full of people who look both like you but are unique and special。

Super cute, I got it for my nephew because the little boy in the jeans and red t-shirt looks like him!

My son is mesmerise by the repetition, rhythm and cute illustrations in this book。 We love it。

For most of the story, the wording is repetitive as it says “there was once a baby who was born in ____。。。and another baby who was born in a _____。。。。 and both of these babies as everyone knows, has ten little fingers and ten little toes”。 It goes by that format the whole way。 Although the story is repetitive in it’s descriptions, I feel the main message is the emphasis that they are from different backgrounds and places。 And no matter where they are from or what they come from, they are similar For most of the story, the wording is repetitive as it says “there was once a baby who was born in ____。。。and another baby who was born in a _____。。。。 and both of these babies as everyone knows, has ten little fingers and ten little toes”。 It goes by that format the whole way。 Although the story is repetitive in it’s descriptions, I feel the main message is the emphasis that they are from different backgrounds and places。 And no matter where they are from or what they come from, they are similar in some sort of way。 。。。more

We discovered this book a little late, really, since the kids being read to are four and six。 And yet, it was still a delight。 The illustrations of the babies are just so cute and both the girls commented on that。 And sometimes a really short book is a nice break at bedtime。

Ugh。 This might be the cutest book EVER。 The illustrations are sweet, and the text is rhythmic。 Will definitely be using this for a future Baby themed storytime。

This storyline is very confusing to me。 The author, Mem Fox, begins the story by telling of two babies who were born in different places within a day of each other。 After than, it a very rhythmic way, she goes through and shows that even though babies may be born in different places, we are all the same。 I do like how she did try to play on making kids aware that our backgrounds do not make a difference in who we are as people, however it does get tricky。 Even though she tries to tell us we are This storyline is very confusing to me。 The author, Mem Fox, begins the story by telling of two babies who were born in different places within a day of each other。 After than, it a very rhythmic way, she goes through and shows that even though babies may be born in different places, we are all the same。 I do like how she did try to play on making kids aware that our backgrounds do not make a difference in who we are as people, however it does get tricky。 Even though she tries to tell us we are all the same, the use of "ten little fingers and ten little toes" can be very excluding to children who do not have ten fingers or ten toes。 While we are talking about inclusion in a book for children, we should not exclude those with physical differences。 Some may take it offensively。Besides that, I think the language in this book flows beautifully。 I am not sure that is has a place in the classroom because I do not think a teacher should be talking about ten fingers and ten toes if not every child has then, but I think the softness of the language would make a great bedtime story for my future children。 The illustrations are not too bold as well, making it a very relaxing book overall。 I give this story 3 stars because while I do like it, it does express some tricky subjects。 。。。more

Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes is a sweet picture story book talking about a few different babies and how despite the differences they all have, they all have ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes。 Counting as well as rhyming is introduced to children, even if they might not be aware of it。 The beautiful pictures stand out against the contrasting white background。 The images truly capture small details of each of the babies。 The adorable cover shows the sweet and comforting nature of the st Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes is a sweet picture story book talking about a few different babies and how despite the differences they all have, they all have ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes。 Counting as well as rhyming is introduced to children, even if they might not be aware of it。 The beautiful pictures stand out against the contrasting white background。 The images truly capture small details of each of the babies。 The adorable cover shows the sweet and comforting nature of the story。 I think this book would be best read aloud because there are a few words children might struggle to read independently。 I believe this story would work well for children in 1st through 3rd grade。 。。。more

A boring and dry book。 Very repetitive。 Not many positives for this book。

This book is brilliant。To all you 1 starers, yes, obviously there are other things that could be more universally in common than 10 fingers and toes。 But guess what? 1 year olds love it and can relate to fingers and toes :)

Andrea

A beautiful book! The large format made it perfect to stand up while my son was in tummy-time so he could look at all of the different babies。 The story was perfectly paced with the right amount of content on each page for my 5 month old to focus on without getting antsy。One to add to the collection!

This book is beautiful。 I’m gonna be that person who cringes at the penguin though, as that’s how I roll 🤷‍♀️

A good introduction to diversity (we're all the same even if we're all different) AND ableism (let's erase the one-handed and the polydactyls) at the same time! She has really liked this one。 I think the appeal is seeing pictures of babies and she likes when we count her fingers and toes。 I’m not impressed。 I think the rhymes are weird and could be so much better。Her interest is waning, thank goodness。 She’s much more interested in the other library books now。 Still likes to look at the hands and feet at the beginning。

A Mem Fox classic that will always hold a special place in my heart。
